Rice Seed Quality Testing For Farmers

- In order for the farmers to know thequality of their own rice seeds and to prepare the inputs for the next year’s production season.
Results of activities
- OASIS member farmers submitted 432 rice seed samples for testing 63 % member farmers
- There was a test to count the number of rice seed contaminants that were not jasmine rice at 100 grams per sample.
- Results from 432 contamination tests (100% )
- Contamination 0 – 10 seeds 172 samples 40% (good criteria)
- Contamination 11-20 seeds 62 samples 14% (moderate criteria)
- Contamination of 21 seeds or more, 198 samples, 46% (criteria should be improved)
- Report the results of the test to all 432 farmers
- Farmers are aware and give importance to rice seed preparation.
- More than 100 farmers have replaced the new rice seeds. Due to the test results that contain 21 seeds or more
